I have to say that Santorini is one of my favourite European destinations. It’s romantic and beautiful and working every year as a Santorini wedding photographer, I certainly get to see the best of the fabulous place. However, Santorini is also the perfect backdrop for engagement shoots, as you’re about to see…

 

I wasn’t expecting to be a Santorini engagement photographer on a recent trip to this great location but, when I met Jess and Michele, I was so happy to take some photos of them as they were recently engaged and totally and utterly in love!

 

Jess is an English model who lives and works in Milan and Michele is and Italian who also calls Milan home. When we met, we connected instantly so photographing this delightful couple was such a joy. Because I’ve worked in Santorini many times, I know some fabulous hidden gems and brilliant locations for photos. We started our engagement session at the fabulous Andronis Concept Wellness Resort, a hotel that I totally adore because it has a unique design and it’s set in quiet area of Imerovigli. We then jumped on rooftops and explored Imerovigli together – although it was June, it was as if we had the whole island to ourselves.

 

This engagement shoot really does explain why you should always try to have a shoot with your wedding photographer before the big day. Michele was rather shy to start with (although you definitely cannot tell from these images) but he definitely relaxed during our time together and became super comfortable in front of the camera. In fact, we all got on so well that we ended our night eating and drinking wine together, chatting about our lives in London and Milan, sharing travelling experiences as we watched the sunset. It was a truly beautiful and fun session.
