I love this time of year because I finally get to share all the amazing romantic and intimate weddings that I’ve been privileged to cover this year. As an Italian wedding photographer based here in the UK, you can imagine how excited I am when I can pack my bags and travel to become a destination wedding photographer in Italy! This wedding on the stunning Amalfi coast was very special indeed…
Lucinda and Richard’s wedding was just amazing – they were even featured by Vogue for goodness sake! I can tell you right now that I’ve never met such a kind, genuine and generous couple. They were absolutely dream clients and the whole event was filled with love and emotion.
The couple met eight years ago in their native Australia when Richard was the drinks waiter at Lucinda’s sister’s engagement party. There was apparently a lot of flirting that night and some complaints about the speed of the service! But, Richard moved to London for work and it wasn’t until Lucinda moved to London four years ago that the couple were reunited and they’ve been together ever since.
For their Amalfi coast wedding, Lucinda and Richard chose a venue, La Conca Del Sogno, that they’d actually visited three years ago where they’d had “the best lunch ever.” A destination wedding in Italy appealed because they wanted to do something less traditional and the privacy and remoteness of the venue created just the intimate and romantic wedding that I love to photograph. As you can see from these images, the views from the ceremony space were incredible. So full of the natural light that I just love to capture.
Wedding planners La Calla Events helped the couple organise their day and everything was absolutely fabulous. I loved the floral arch behind the ceremony table, the beach-themed table plan and all of the details that filled the day. This Amalfi coast wedding photographer couldn’t have been happier! The lemon, so symbolic of the Amalfi coast, inspired the colours and motifs used across the day. How perfect are those cheery yellow flowers?
I also adored Lucinda’s wedding dress. She found her Enzoani gown at The Wedding Dress Shop in Wimbledon and the veil was custom-made using Enzoani lace to match! The super cute flower girls in their Dolce & Gabbana dresses also have to get a mention and how perfectly cool are those bridesmaids dresses by Seed? The whole look is so modern but still traditional and elegant. Absolute perfection.
You might think that when you’re an Italian wedding photographer, you get used to beautiful weddings but let me tell you that this wedding was very emotional and yes, I cried quite a lot! The details got me – Lucinda’s wedding ring belonged to her late mother and part of it was also moulded into the groom’s ring. How utterly amazing is that? I adore to photograph romantic weddings so really couldn’t have been happier and it was a joy to capture the love, emotion and happiness of this day.
Friends and family flew into Italy from Australia and to include as many people as possible in the day, the couple involved as many people as possible in the ceremony or asked them to give readings.
After the celebrations, the couple hosted an amazing and truly delicious dinner for their guests overlooking the sea. Then, a fireworks display exploded around Lucinda and Richard as they cut their cake and the party lasted well into the night. What a memorable wedding day!
I love working as destination wedding photographer in Italy and I’m already looking forward to photographing more destination weddings on the Amalfi coast next year. If you’ve looking for an Italian wedding photographer, do take a look at my calendar to check your dates.
As well as photographing weddings overseas, I also love to work as a wedding photographer in London and across the UK and as a wedding photographer in Greece so wherever you’re getting married, do get in touch because I’d love to find out more about your wedding day.
And if you’d like to stay up-to-date with my work, you’ll also find me on Facebook, Twitter and of course my favourite platform Instagram.
