Hello again and welcome back to my blog!! What do you think of my new website and rebranding? I hope you like the new look. It’s fair to say that the last few months flew by in the blinking of an eye and I was travelling everywhere to photograph destination weddings and elopements. I’ll be sharing all of these soon on the blog but today I’m focusing on London. I love to photograph weddings in London but this is a little different. Say hello to a surprise sunrise anniversary shoot in the heart of the capital…
Luca and Monica were married last year in their native Italy but they adore London and were, at one point, hoping to move to the city. However, their love of London was so strong that, unbeknownst to Luca, Monica decided to book a weekend in the capital to celebrate their anniversary and she also contacted me to arrange a surprise photo-shoot!
Now, I LOVE romantic and spontaneous wedding photography so the prospect of being involved in a surprise anniversary shoot was so exciting. Monica and I spoke in advance to plan everything and when the couple arrived in the UK, Luca still had no idea that Monica had packed her wedding dress and his groom’s suit in her luggage!
Our plan involved a shoot at sunrise and as a fine art wedding photographer in London, this made me so happy. We started off at Waterloo, made our way to Buckingham Palace and walked on down to the Millennium Bridge. It absolutely felt as it we had London to ourselves and this suited my romantic photography style perfectly.
The couples’ photos that we took that morning are so very intimate and almost private, despite the fact that we were in one of the busiest cities in the world! Not only was the light spectacular but also the settings were made even more incredible by the fact we felt alone and were free to be as spontaneous as we liked.
It was such a treat to photograph this couple and London in the early morning provided the perfect backdrop. Luca was overjoyed with his surprise and the couple laughed together throughout the shoot. I couldn’t think of a more romantic way to spend your first anniversary and it was fantastic to be a London anniversary photographer instead of my usual role as a London wedding photographer!
Planning this surprise anniversary photo-shoot was so much fun and the couple now have a very special set of images to share with family and friends. If you’d like to organise something similar, either in London or in Italy, Greece or indeed in any destination, I’d be super happy to hear from you and I have no doubt that we can come up with a wonderfully personal plan for your anniversary photographs.
I love to photograph London weddings and as a London wedding photographer, I know the capital inside out. I’m here to help you as you plan your wedding in London and I’d be thrilled to be your wedding photographer.
